Welcome to The Library House tourThe Library House boasts an intriguing history dating back to the time of the Industrial Revolution. The house retains much of its charm and original features enhanced by sensitive restoration and complimented by fine décor and luxury furnishings. Although very much older, the house takes its name from being the old village library, but it has also been used as a child's health clinic, doctors surgery, dentists and registrars'. The former library room is now a splendid guest lounge with large bay window overlooking the Severn, a high Georgian plaster moulded ceiling and sumptuous furnishings on which you can relax upon arrival with a complimentary drink. Some of the original library shelves have been retained and are filled with an attractive display of books and a small DVD library. The breakfast room which was the doctor's surgery provides an attractive contrast between the crisp white linen tables and the rich terracotta tones of the original pammant floor. The walls are now hung with a stunning display of original artwork of Ironbridge, by the local artist Jenny Gunning. A perfect setting to enjoy breakfast and provide a peaceful, relaxed start to the day. As a courtesy for our guests we offer free car park passes which are valid on all Ironbridge car parks. Wireless Broadband is also available throughout the rooms. At the Library House we currently have three bedrooms each named after prominent literary figures. All rooms offer the highest standard of comfort and luxury, each being beautifully furnished and having en-suite bathrooms, complimentary toiletries and of course tea and coffee making facilities.
